CBP 2025: Eat the Cake!
CBP 2025: Eat the Cake!
t’s that time of year, again, Annual Caking Day (Valentine’s
Day). If for no other reason, V-Day is a
great excuse to be booed up with someone, even if it’s only for the night. Among other things, the soundtrack that you use to
set the mood can make or break your evening. That’s where the annual Cake Batter
Playlist (CBP) comes into play.
The CBP is a music playlist that’s curated, throughout the year and published on the Valentine’s Day of the following year. Characteristics that are considered, when selecting songs for CBP, include subject matter, tempo, key, and the primary instrument in the accompaniment or instrumental.
Considered
songs are found via radio, streaming platforms, award shows, and
street buzz.
Now, let’s get to the 2024 CBP. This year’s list is comprised of just 12
songs and has a total play time of about 46 minutes. The tempos range from the low 70s to maybe the
130s BPM. A lot of these are in A Minor and
incorporate strings. Enough of that. The Apple Music & Spotify links are below:
If you know of any songs that should’ve made any of the lists, let me know in the comments.
Keep Caking!
